Clubs & Associations

1. N S S:

The National Service Scheme is a Voluntary Organization of College Students under the UnionMinistry of Human Resource Development to inculcate social consciousness and a sense of responsibility, discipline and dignity of labour among youth. The college unit of the NSS is vibrant with activities and takes up a number of adult education and health education programmes each year and summer camps under the guidance of the Project Officer.

2. WOMEN’S FORUM:

A Women’s Forum Unit is active in the college. All the girls of college are members. They shall have periodic meeting with Principal and the coordinator of Forum. They also have an annual seminar.

3. SFSC CLUBS AND ASSOCIATIONS:

The college encourages the formation of student clubs under the guidance of Teaching Staff. The clubs are Sports and Games, Literary and Cultural, Information clubs and Association for Social Action etc. A staff Member appointed by the principal will guide and monitor each of these.

a) SPORTS & GAMES CLUB: (SAGC)
Games and Sports Club searches, exposes and develops talents in Games and Sports.

b) LITERARY AND CULTURAL CLUB (LACC)
Literary and Cultural club encourages and promotes related activities such as debates, seminars, workshops, singing, dancing, music etc. All English Honours are members of it.

c) INFORMATION CLUB (INC)

Information club collects news and information of the latest events and briefs the students regarding it.

d) ACCOCIATION FOR SOCIAL ACTION (ASA)
ASA focuses on training students in the art of a life of caring, sharing and giving to society and his/her differently abled children… Social Service activities, undertaking public works, visit and free service to hospitals, hospices, old age homes, leprosaria, orphanages, etc. will be encouraged in order to be sensitive to the needs of others in the society. It also creates awareness among the students on socially important sensitive issues and encourages them to respond. All sociology students are members of ASA.


4. COLLEGE WEEK- ;Francis Fiesta’

Every year the College celebrates ‘College Wee known as Francis Fiesta, during which the talents of the students are exposed in co-curricular fields. The whole college is divided into different groups and they compete with each other in almost all the popular competitions in the fields of Arts, Literature, Sports etc. it is an occasion where the students learn to work together and support each other. The high point of the weeklong celebration is the beauty pageant and selection of the ‘Mr. and Ms. SFS’ every year.

5. ANNUAL DAY:

Annual day is a regular (annual/biannual) feature of SFSC. It is the day of culmination of all the curricular and co-curricular activities. Various prizes, awards etc. are present during the function.

6. FRESHER’S DAY:

In the month of August, the Fresher’s Day is celebrated. It is the time the new comers to the College is welcomed, introduced and entertained. It is done with lot of love and interest. The Second Year Students take the lead in organizing the day’s programme. The culmination of the day’s entertainment saga is the selection of “Mr and Miss Fresher” and crowning them in the public function. The day is organized by keeping in mind that ‘Ragging’ is a non-bailable offence under the Supreme Court of India order.

7. VALEDICTORY DAY:

At the end of the academic year a day is set apart as valedictory day where the final year students are given a fitting and emotional ‘send off’ by the entire college under the leadership of the second years.

8. ALUMNI-DAY/SFS-AFA DAY

Another of the annual feature of SFSC is the coming together of its Alumnus at a convenient date to share their achievements, and joys. The day is proposed to be in the first week of April, close to the ‘Mopin’ celebration of the ‘Galos’ as it is the time most of the youth are around the time.
